After years of collecting Spanish and Mediterranean building elements it was time for these owners to build their drem house on the property where they had already established a vibrant vineyard. A central courtyard is the focus of the entire home, with the bedroom wing forming one leg, the entry and service spaces another and the living spaces completing the third side. A large sandstone fireplace is the centrepiece of the living area with its warm terracotta tiles accented by the Spanish feature tiles dotted throughout. The use of rustic timber for the pergolas, old doors with iron panel inlays and the tile “carpet” in the entry make this a very interesting home. Modern features such as composite windows and doors and double glazing keep the home temperate throughout the year.
