1970s Transformation in Bundanoon

Project Description

This house was truly tired. A classic 1970s design, the entry was hopelessly hidden, a labyrinth bringing guests upstairs from the driveway via a stairway right past the master bedroom windows. The “front” of the house was a blank wall, and the tan face bricks, skinny brown aluminium framed windows and brown tiled roof dragged down the appearance of the house. It was a challenge to make a silk purse from a sow’s ear, but we did it! We replaced all the windows and removed the roof tiles in favour of a modern new metal roof. A new verandah on the entry side of the house and a new inviting entry at that level bring guest straight into the living areas of the house, giving instant privacy to the master bedroom which now has a private balcony. A fresh new colour scheme for the newly rendered brickwork and stylish colourful new interiors have completely transformed this old girl, giving her a new lease on life and many happy years to come for its owners!
